Community contributor Enaanapu Gabriel hosted the first Nano Networking Meetup in Nigeria, called "First African Merchant Meetup." Now, he shares his experience and vision related to the event in this article.

Nano has a fairly unique decentralization and consensus mechanism with the Open Representative Voting (ORV). Each owner, according to their liquid share of XNO's total supply, can actively determine whether the network has a more or less decentralized consensus.

This creates very interesting dynamics with an innovative game theory and decentralization incentives, which Vini Barbosa addresses in this article.

The Nano Community Programme has evolved, and now, more than ever, we need every community member's support and activity to increase nano awareness and adoption worldwide. In this article, Nano Foundation's Community Lead Vini Barbosa guides you through a meet-up structure idea that anyone can reproduce anywhere in the world — just like sending and receiving nano (XNO).

Building circular economies is one of our most important goals to foment real-world adoption of nano as a currency. A circular economy exists when entities can directly spend the coins they earned with another participant, and so on.

For that, I introduce you to the Nano Networking meet-up proposed structure. This should be a general guide for the first steps of organizing a local meet-up aiming to build circular economies worldwide.

By following this guide, all nano community members will be able to host their local nano networking meet-ups and become leaders (or ambassadors) locally.

It's with a touch of sadness that the creator of a long-running project, Nanocafe.cc, active for nearly three years since its inception during the raiblocks era, has announced its closure. Despite the creator's self-professed limited programming skills, the project has thrived, a testament to the power of determination and community support. 

In a gesture of gratitude and to boost network awareness one last time, a final giveaway is planned, with details to be announced. Nanocafe.cc, which has significantly contributed to the Nano network, reaching over 80,000 unique users and operating as a non-profit, will leave its domain and open-source materials on GitHub available for anyone interested in continuing the journey.

Nano Foundation’s Community Lead Vini Barbosa has shown it is possible to travel (mostly) with nano in his pockets.

On a trip to Curitiba (Paraná, Brazil), Vini has covered nearly 90% of his expenses with XNO. Moreover, he explained to the team that these units were previously earned in a job he does for Ririro.com — a children’s story website by Pim Coffeng.

“I was gifted the flying ticket for this 2-day trip but I could’ve purchased it with nano through Travala if I wanted to. The hotel was booked using Travala, and Uber through NanoBankBot (a Brazil-only service for gift cards and on/off-ramp, by Wenderson from the Brazilian community). However, the best part was directly spending nano at Corleone Craft Burger. From my self-custody wallet to Corleone owner's self-custody wallet, no intermediaries. The hamburger is delicious, by the way. The thing is, traveling with nano is possible using the right tools.”

A common problem in decentralized communities is members wanting to help out, but not knowing where to begin, or finding tasks too overwhelming.

u/Corican wanted to address this problem, and created PRISM - a central hub for micro-tasks that benefit the nano ecosystem and community.

PRISM operates on zealy.io, a website that lets organizers set tasks for community members and rewards them for completing them. For example: you could be asked to Like a specific Tweet and get a small XP boost or $XNO reward for doing so.

Nano-GPT, an AI website that allows users to pay-per-prompt with nano to chat with the pro version of ChatGPT and generate images, has been improved even more!

The service now added multiple new language models, swaps from other currencies to nano via NanSwap, the chat being streamed and the website is now also turned into a progressive app for android, iphone and desktop.

The University of Benin has become a popular location for students to gather and use Nano, particularly at the WeNano spots. A collaboration among local Nano enthusiasts led to the installation of a fridge in the student hostel, with drinks priced at 0.2XNO, payable via a QR code.

A custom bot monitors transactions, facilitating immediate fund distribution and handling of incorrect payment amounts, with notifications sent through WhatsApp. This initiative, currently in the experimental phase, has successfully enabled the practical use of Nano, with plans to adjust pricing and possibly integrate a Point of Sale system or WeNano Business.

NanoWall.link almost had to close down but is now using rpc.nano.to and is able to stay up! To promote the project, NanoWall now allows users to buy an XNO monster with an associated nano seed. Besides getting a cool picture, the nano wallet seeds will be used for something in the future.
