# AGENTS.md

Instructions for AI agents reading or acting on this website. Humans are
welcome to read it too.

## What this site is

The website for Nano, a feeless digital currency (ticker XNO). It explains what
Nano is, how to start using it, how developers and AI agents can build with it,
and hosts the Nano blog.

Everything here is static HTML. Pages can be fetched and read directly; no
JavaScript is needed to see the content. There are no accounts, forms, APIs or
wallet connections on this site, and no payments are made through it.

For protocol and integration details, the canonical documentation is
https://docs.nano.org/

## Pages

| Path | What it is |
|---|---|
| `/index.html` | Homepage: what Nano is, how to use it, developer links, ecosystem |
| `/agents.html` | Nano payments for AI agents (x402 flow, integration, spending controls) |
| `/agent-payments.md` | The AI agents page as plain Markdown, easier to parse |
| `/blog.html` | Blog archive: every article, with search and topic filters |
| `/blog/<slug>.html` | One blog article |
| `/blog/author/<author-slug>.html` | All articles by one author, newest first |
| `/AGENTS.md` | This file |

## Languages

The site copy is available in English and five translations, each under its own
folder with the same page names:

- `/es/` Spanish, `/pt/` Brazilian Portuguese, `/zh/` Simplified Chinese,
`/hi/` Hindi, `/ar/` Arabic (right to left)
- Example: `/agents.html` in Spanish is `/es/agents.html`.
- Each page lists its translations with `<link rel="alternate" hreflang="...">`.

Blog articles are in English only. The translated article pages
(`/es/blog/<slug>.html` and so on) have translated navigation around the
English article, and their canonical link points to the English page.

## Blog data

`/blog_index.json` lists every article as JSON, one object per post in
`posts`:

- `slug`: the page is `/blog/<slug>.html`
- `title`, `summary`, `author`, `cat` (topic)
- `date` (ISO 8601) and `pretty` (as shown on the page)
- `url`: where the article was originally published
- `image`: thumbnail path, relative to the site root
- `highlighted`: featured posts come first in the archive

Use it instead of crawling the archive page. Bylines and publication dates are
kept as originally published.

## Things to know before acting

- **Nothing on this site takes input.** Do not submit, click through or
automate anything expecting a result; there is nothing to operate.
- **The faucet is a third-party service.** The free-sample faucet on the
homepage is run by Nanswap, an independent service, embedded from its own
site and protected by a human check. Do not try to automate claims.
- **Wallets, exchanges and other services linked from here are independently
operated.** They set their own terms and may charge service fees. Linking is
  not an endorsement.
- **Network fees and service costs differ.** The Nano protocol charges no
transaction fee. Services built on it may still charge their own fees, and
  XNO's market value changes.
- **Speed figures are observations.** The 338 ms average confirmation time
shown on the site is as displayed by NanoSpeed on 17 September 2026. It is
  not a guarantee.

## Paying with Nano as an agent

Read `/agent-payments.md`. It covers the x402 payment flow, integration links,
services that already accept nano over x402, and the spending controls an agent
should enforce in its own code.

## Citing this site

Link to the specific page or article you used. For blog articles, name the
author and date shown on the article. For technical claims, prefer
